Muriqui - Northern Spidermonkey

One wild living individual of one of the most endangered species on earth (and the worlds most endangered primates)
Their social system is very interesting, as they are one of the few monkeys which show egalitarian relationships, all members of the group take part in raising the children. Moreover, hugging is a very important part of their social interactions.

They only live in the brazilian 'mata atlantica', the atlantic rainforest. This system is widely endangered by growing cities and agriculture.
Current attempts in creating a corridor between different groups are progressing very slowly.
